A CORRECTION.

Our intelligent and just-minded correspondent, VEDETTE, wrote some time since, that a negro assemblage at Knoxville had appointed delegates to the Philadelphia Radical Convention, to be held on the 3d of September. This was an error, and he writes us the following correction, in which he displays a fairness as prompt as it is admirable:

I think very probably I have been led into error, and may lead your readers into to error by the statement made in a recent communication, that negro delegates had been appointed by a negro Convention at Knoxville, , to attend the Radical Convention in Philadelphia next month. I am informed that these delegates were appointed not to the Philadelphia next month. I am informed that these delegates were appointed not to the Philadelphia Convention, but to one recently held in Nashville. I regret that I should have been led into this error, and still more that I should have given it circulation, as I do not wish to do injustice to any one, and I now beg your pardon of both the Knoxville and the Philadelphia Conventions.

VEDETTE.
