A CONVENTION OF THE COLORED FREEMEN OF OHIO To assemble in Dayton; Wednesday; Oct: 26th 1853, at 10 o'clock clock

Let every County, City, Village and Township, be represented in this Convention.

Brethren, our work is not yet completed. The Black Laws have been in part repealed; Cushing's Bill has been rejected -the the nefarious scheme of Colonization has been baffled; -Schools Schools have been established by the law for Colored Children. But we are still excluded from the Jury Box: our Our poor are shut out from the Alms House, supported in part by our money; -- the Deaf and Dumb and Blind and Lunatic Asylums are closed against us; and what is more to us than all else, we are denied the Elective Franchise, the Great Palladium of Human Liberty! !

Come up then, and let us renew our vows, and determinations to labor on until success shall be ours.

Per order, State Central Com. THOMAS JEFFERSON, SAMUEL ROUSE, State JOHN JOHNSON, CHARLES, CHARLES. H. LANGSTON, Com. WILLIAM H. DAY,

State Central Com.
