FROM WASHINGTON.

Gen. Grant Condemns the Removal of Gov. Jenkins, &c.

Washington, January 15. - The Intelligencer of this morning says it is understood that within a few hours after the reception of the dispatch announcing the removal by Gen. Meade of Gov. Jenkins, of Georgia, on account of his refusal to sanction the payment of the Georgia Negro Convention out of the State funds, General Grant expressed the opinion that General Meade had acted hastily and should not have removed Gov. Jenkins, and that the Convention had no right to be paid out of the State Treasury.
